'A MAN AND HIS LAND'[Dir. Whitehall, Short Documentary, 2018, digital + analogue stills, 4:43 min, Colour with b/w]
In this point-of-view documentary, award-winning forest conservationist and ecotourism operator Doug Dennis has been managing 700 acres of pristine Carolinian forest for over four decades.
Born into a farming community, he is a leading authority on the complexities of land organization, eager to share his knowledge of forest management, wildlife biodiversity and his passion for land history. Filmmakers Whitehall + Brucke take an eco-tour of his property.
Now in his seventies, Doug successfully manages his own woodlots, harvests and plants dozens of tree varieties to support biodiversity, habitats for wildlife and good forest management practices.
