'PORTRAIT OF TOUCH' [Dir. Whitehall + Brucke, 2015, 1 min]
2021
‘Portrait of Touch' uses analogue film to study the fluid nature of memory, the role of nostalgia and archival family footage. The 8mm footage has been stored in a family shoebox for decades, now assembled to observe and explore the complexity of a young family’s dynamics, their traditions and intimate moments together.
Transitioning between the movement and behaviour of the majestic whale, these captured moments create a visual composition – a symphony of innocence, biological urge, intimacy and belonging.
